Project Noah

I’m a fan of this website:
It's a tool that nature lovers can use to explore and document local wildlife and a common technology platform that research groups can use to harness the power of citizen scientists everywhere.

Giant Panda

I don’t remember how I first got to it, the only thing I know it’s that it was through facebook. They usually publish “the spotting of the day” where you can check the best photo that has been taken during the day, and on their website you can check on everyone else’s posts of their own sightings. Most of them are truly great and surprising. You can find any kind of animals, plants and insects, even the ones you didn't even know existed, it’s all in there.

I love this website because of the incredible work they have done and have kept doing every day. They usually tell us a little story about the animal they’re showing to us, so they contribute to our knowledge, and also (personally) it helps me to chill when I am too stressed out. Watching their sightings keeps me calm most of the time.

Satanic leaf-tailed gecko

Today’s spotting was about Halloween, so they chose the Satanic leaf-tailed gecko that looks creepy but awesome at the same time! (Looks like a dragon to me).

The user posted the next description for it: "Nocturnal gecko hunting in the rainforests of Madagascar, it can be up to 6 inches in length although this one was around 3 inches. This gecko is a mottled brown colour unless you use a flash to really bring out the red and they get their name from the spiky protrusions above their eyes".
